Privacy Policy

1. Purpose and scope

Mithaq Ghalidh is a private, non-commercial community marriage-facilitation workspace. It helps a limited team of approved scholars maintain candidate profiles, review potential matches, document consent, and coordinate appropriate outreach. This policy applies to scholars who sign in and to candidate information maintained in the workspace.

2. Google account information

When an approved scholar signs in with Google, the application accesses basic identity information provided through Google Sign-In: the scholar's name, email address, Google account identifier, and profile image when available. This information is used only to authenticate the scholar, confirm that the account is on the approved access list, display account identity, and maintain security records.

The application does not request access to Gmail messages, Google Drive files, calendars, contacts, or other Google Workspace content. Google account information is not sold, used for advertising, or used to build advertising profiles.

3. Candidate and matching information

The workspace may store information supplied by a candidate, parent or guardian, authorized profile owner, or approved scholar. This can include profile details, age or date of birth, gender, location, education, occupation, cultural or religious background, spouse preferences, contact information, photographs, consent settings, match assessments, outreach history, and scholar notes.

4. How information is used

• To maintain accurate candidate profiles and matching preferences.
• To compare potential matches in both directions and support scholar review.
• To confirm readiness, consent, and contact information before outreach.
• To record decisions, access, changes, and other security-relevant activity.
• To operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the private workspace.

5. Sharing and disclosure

Candidate information is available only to approved scholars with an active account. Information may be shared with a candidate or a potential match only according to recorded consent and the facilitation process. Limited information is processed by service providers used to operate the application, including Google for authentication, Vercel for application hosting, and Neon for database hosting. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to protect people, the community, or the service.

Mithaq Ghalidh does not sell personal information or disclose it for targeted advertising.

6. Security

The application uses access controls, a scholar allowlist, encrypted storage for contact values and photographs, and audit records for sensitive actions. Only the minimum necessary people should be granted access. No internet-based system can guarantee absolute security, but reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used to reduce risk.

7. Retention, correction, and deletion

Information is retained while a profile is active and as reasonably necessary for matching, safety, recordkeeping, dispute resolution, and legal obligations. Profiles may be paused, archived, corrected, or deleted when appropriate. A scholar or candidate may request access, correction, or deletion by contacting the application administrator. Some audit or backup records may be retained for a limited period where necessary for security or legal compliance.

8. Choices relating to Google Sign-In

A scholar may revoke the application's Google access through the security settings of their Google Account. Revoking Google access prevents future sign-in but does not automatically delete records already maintained in the workspace. Requests concerning those records should be sent to the application administrator.

9. Age limitation

The service is intended for adults and is not designed for children under 18. Candidate profiles for minors should not be added.

10. Changes and contact
